10 Apr EBC and Khumbu Icefall Trek
April 10, 2020 - April 28, 2020
Everest Base Camp
Discover Mount Everest Base Camp with the Kathmandu Summit Club. Experience what it’s like to spend a day and a night at 5,364m where oxygen is at a premium and mountain climbers begin the world’s biggest challenge, whilst helping to raise much needed funds for the Australian Himalayan Foundation.
Beginning our trek in Lukla, we climb through picturesque Sherpa villages, passing underneath Himalayan giants such as Ama Dablam. Arriving at Everest Base Camp we have the opportunity to trek to the Khumbu Icefall and view this stunning aspect of the world’s highest peak.
Turning our back on Sagamartha, we retrace our steps down the valley where we visit an AHF supported school before taking a stunning mountain flight back to the cultural melting pot that is Kathmandu.
The experienced local guides will make this trek, whether your first or your fifteenth, a Himalayan adventure to remember. With a small group and a custom-built itinerary, there is time to explore more than the face of this fascinating country. Our visit to the Australian Himalayan Foundation project will open your heart to the people of these remote communities as you travel through.
And while this will be more of a walk into the clouds than a walk in the park, the exhaustion of the day will soon melt away as you relax with a view of the spectacular mountain scenery and learn more about the Nepalese way of life.
