Keep a child in school
$150 could cover an entire year of education for one student in Nepal
For 20 years, AHF has helped children in remote regions of Nepal access quality education. Your support ensures the next generation can stay in school and no child is left behind.
How your support helps
$150 could help support one of 120 vulnerable children in lower Solukhumbu through our Going to School Support program.
Each year, AHF identifies children at risk of missing out on an education due to family hardship, disability and economic or social marginalisation. Our education program ensures that children can get equal access to an education.
Each student receives:
Funds to cover school fees and to purchase school essentials such as uniforms
Learning materials including a backpack, notebooks, pens, pencils, erasers and a geometry box
Personal care supplies including a towel, shampoo, soap and a toothbrush and toothpaste

Dreams for the future
Like all children, students in remote communities in Nepal have dreams and aspirations. For 20 years, AHF has supported quality, inclusive education across Solukhumbu by training teachers, strengthening school management and local government capacity, fostering parental engagement and creating child-friendly learning environments. Through our programs, we have helped to bring a generation of Himalayan dreams to life. Hear directly from the children about what they hope to achieve when they grow up.

Sumit, Disability Support Worker
“I saw many children like me, some with even more serious disabilities, but they were smiling, studying, dreaming. It changed my life. Without the Going to School Support program, I would have never reached Grade 12. It gave me not just an education, but hope to live again.”
-

Mina, Grade 5 Student
“With the help of the Going to School Support program, I now have the uniforms, books and school supplies I need to stay in school. Before, it was difficult to manage my studies while helping my family, but now I feel encouraged to keep learning. One day, I want to help other children who face challenges like mine.”

Duparaj, Science and Maths Teacher
“Growing up with a disability in a remote village was not easy, but the Going to School Support program made sure I could continue my education. That support gave me the chance to become a teacher, and now I work to show my students that disability is not a limitation.”
