28 Nov The Bird that gives back!
Merry Christmas from AHF and our partner Kathmandu!
Throughout December this year, all Kathmandu stores will be taking donations for the Australian Himalayan Foundation. Every dollar given in Australia will go to the AHF to support our education programs in Nepal – our kids’ scholarships and our Teacher Training and Quality Education program which continues to be the heart of what we do.
Available for the first time online, as well as in specific Kathmandu stores, every person who donates $10 or more will be rewarded with a gorgeous Himalayan Monal (while stocks last). The Monal is the national bird of Nepal, and like the Himalaya, it is known for its incredible beauty. These delightful little tree ornaments (pictured above) have been especially handmade by a group of artisan craft producers in Nepal. This makes them a unique Christmas ornament for your tree that will remind you of the Himalaya, and the difference you make by being an AHF supporter.
Last year our Christmas Yak campaign in partnership with Kathmandu raised over $30,000, proving that if we work together, small actions and small donations can make a big difference. We are so thrilled to once again be able to partner with Kathmandu to give something back to the region that so inspires their customers and staff.
You can find the Christmas Monal online here.
To find out if your local Kathmandu stocks the Bird that Gives Back, call them, or get in touch with AHF.
May the season treat you lightly, may you have all you need, and may you find a little bit of room in your heart for the people of the Himalaya.
